9、QualityEducation,SDG6:CleanWaterandSanitation,andSDG7:AffordableandCleanEnergy.Theseadvancementscanbeattributedtotheincreasingnumberofpeoplewhorelyonmobiletechnologytoaccesseducationalresources,usegovernmentservicesandmanagetheirbills.Themobileindustry,sbiggestimpactcontinuestobeinSDG9:Industry,Inno
10、vationandInfrastructure,drivenbythewidespreadreachofmobilenetworks,investmentsin5Gandinfrastructureandthegrowinguptakeofmobileinternetservices.Overthepastsevenyears,closeto2billionmorepeoplehavegainedaccesstotheinternetthroughtheirmobilephones.Thissignificantconnectivityachievementhasbroughtsclosert
11、obridgingthedigitaldivideandempoweringindividualswiththeresourcestheyneedtothrive.Wehavealsomadesignificantprogressinexpandingmobilebroadbandcoverage.Bytheendof2022,95%oftheglobalpopulationhadaccesstomobilebroadbandcoverage,leavingonly400millionpeoplewithoutconnectivity.Consideringthatthisnumberstoo
12、dat1.8billionin2015,theremarkableprogressiscleartosee.ItbecomesevenmoreremarkablewiththerealisationthatcountrieswithahighermobileconnectivityscoredobetteroverallintheimplementationoftheirSDGs.Whilemuchhasbeenachieved,thegloballandscapehasalsoundergoneprofoundtransformationsinrecentyears,presentingne
13、wchallengesthathinderourprogresstowardstheSDGs.TheCovid-19pandemic,conflicts,climate-relateddisasters,theongoingeconomiccrisisandhighinflationhavesignificantlyimpactedourefforts.Vulnerablepopulationshavebornethebruntofrisingenergyandfoodprices,exacerbatingthecost-of-livingcrisis.Inthiscontext,thewor
14、kwedoasanindustrytoadvancetheSDGsbecomesevenmorecrucialinbuildingresilienceandcreatingasustainablefuture.Whileweremainoptimisticaboutthepotentialimpactwecanachieve,wecannottakeprogressforgranted.TheflataverageSDGimpactscoreobservedin2022meansthatwemustkeepworkingtogetheracrossthepublicandprivatesect
15、orstoaccelerateoureffortsandincreasethescaleofourimpact.Aswenavigatetowardsthe2030SDGtargets,thisreportconsidershowwecanaccelerateourefforts.Byfocusingonunlockinggrowthinmobileandmobileinternetadoption,acceleratingtheusageofmobile-enabledservicesandembracingsustainablebusinesspractices,WecanmaximiseourcontributionstotheSDGs.Together,asanindustry,wehavetheopportunitytodrivepositivechange,empowercommunitiesandcreateasustainablefuturebyunlockingthepowerofconnectivityandcreatingabetterfutureforall.JoseMariaAlvarez-PaUeteChair
