15、orusinganinstrument,butvisualmethodscanbesubjective.Thismethodinstrumentallymeasuresthescatteringoflightbytheinsolublematterinaliquidandthereforegivesanobjectivedeterminationofturbidity.Turbidityinliquidsiscausedbythepresenceofundissolvedmatter(i.e.non-settlingflocculation,gelsorothersuspendedmattersuchasparticlesordroplets).Inthecaseoffinelydispersedundissolvedmatter,theturbiditycanbedeterminedbymeasuringtheintensityofthelightwhichisscatteredbytheparticleswhenabeamoflightispassedthroughtheliquid.BindersforpaintsandvarnishesDeterminationofturbidity1ScopeThisdocumentspecifiesaninstru
