2、sofpeacefulcoexistence,opennessandinclusiveness,andmutuallybeneficial,win-winsituations.ThisalsoremainstruesinceChinastransformationintoaleaderontheworldstage,withthetwosidesnotonlytreadingsimilarpathstonationalindependenceandrejuvenation,butalsorepresentingamodeloffriendshipandcooperationfortherest
3、oftheworld.EconomicandtradecooperationbetweenChinaandthecountriesintheArabregionkeepsgettingmorerobust.OnecatalystwaswhenChinajoinedtheWorldTradeOrganizationin2001.ThevalueoftradebetweenChinaandthecountriesintheArabregionjumpedfromaboutUS$14.7billionin2001toaboutUS$330billionin2021,amorethan22-foldi
4、ncrease.WiththeintroductionoftheBeltandRoadInitiativeadecadeago,China-Arabrelationsstartedtobecomemorecomprehensiveandmultifaceted,goingbeyondthetradeofenergyandgoods,tothefieldsoffinance,investment,scienceandtechnology,andculture.TheprospectsforfinancialinvestmentsbetweenChinaandthecountriesintheAr
5、abregionarebroad,inparticular.AttheChina-ArabSummitlastyear,bothsidesagreedtomakeeveryefforttoinvestforthebettermentofbothChineseandArabcommunities.ItisthereforeclearthatChina-Arabrelationshaveenteredaneweraofcomprehensiveanddeepeningdevelopment.ThemultifacedinvestmentcooperationbetweenChinaandtheco
6、untriesintheArabregionwillbeindiverseareas,suchasconstruction,transportation,climateandrenewableenergy,emergingpaymentmethods,andvideogamesandentertainment.Whetheritisfinancialinstitutions,privatecapital,sovereignfunds,orfintechcompanies,buildingbilateralrelationshipsofmutualtrustisanimportantfounda
7、tionforseizingtheseopportunities.ThecultureandhistoryofChinaandthecountriesintheArabregion,respectively,arerichandunique.Althoughbusinesstiesareapositivestart,thereisalotmorestilltobedone.Buildingandmaintainingarelationshipofmutualtrustcannotbeaccomplishedovernight.Besidesbeneficialexchanges,itrequi
8、resasharedvisionandunwaveringcommitmenttoalong-termrelationship.Atthesametime,thisfoundationrequiresactiveunderstandingandcooperationinordertobridgeculturalandhistoricaldifferences.Throughthisreport,wewillhelpreadersbetterunderstandtheeconomicandtraderelationsbetweenChinaandthecountriesintheArabregi

12、estudyitself,andinthefar-reachingimpactitwillbring.InOctober2023,China,sFinancialSupervisionandAdministrationBureauindicatedthatitwouldguidebankingandinsuranceinstitutionstocontinuouslyimprovetheleveloffinancialservicesforthecountriesalongtheBeltandRoad,andpromotetheBeltandRoadshigh-qualitydevelopme
13、nt.AsoftheendofJune2023,13Chinesebankshadalreadysetup145first-tierinstitutionsin50suchcountries,andsixChineseinsurancecompanieshadalreadysetup15overseasbranchesineightsuchcountries.Similarly,followinginthefootstepsofvariousMiddleEastsovereignfunds,suchastheAbuDhabiInvestmentAuthority,KuwaitInvestmen
14、tAuthority,QatarInvestmentAuthority,andSaudiPublicInvestmentFund,theMubadalaInvestmentCompany,whichisthethird-largestsovereignwealthfundintheUnitedArabEmirates,officiallyopeneditsBeijingofficeinSeptemberofthisyear.InOctober2023,JeffreySachs,anAmericaneconomistandthedirectoroftheCenterforSustainableD
15、evelopmentatColumbiaUniversity,mentionedinaninterviewthattheBeltandRoadInitiativeenablescountriesinAsia,Africa,Europe,andtheAmericastofinanceandbuildworld-class,cutting-edgegreeninfrastructure,includinghigh-speedrailwaynetworks,renewableenergyprojects,andothercoresustainableinfrastructure,allofwhich
16、canleadtoarealwin-winsituationfortheworld.SituatedatthecrossroadsofAsia,Africa,andEurope,theMiddleEastisknownforitsuniquegeographicallocation,abundantenergydeposits,andrichculture.TheenthusiasmforbuildinginalignmentwiththeBeltandRoadInitiativecontinuestoaddanewdimensiontothedevelopmentoftheMiddleEastregionasawhole.AsanArabproverbsays,Wordsaretheleaves,actionsarethefruits.,Atpresent,countriesalongtheBeltandRoadareenteringawindowofd
