2、oldcypress,aswellaspalaces,moatedpavilionsandbridgesthatbranchoffeachother.FirstconstructedduringtheNorthernWeiDynasty(368-534),thetemplestandsinmemoryofprinceJiYuoftheWesternZhouDynasty(c.Ilthcentury-771BC)onthesiteofhiskingdomscapital,amonumenttohiscommitmenttoimprovethelivesofhispeople.Modifiedan
3、dexpandedoversubsequentcenturies,theresultingtempleisadiversecollectionofmorethan100sculptures,bridges,terracesandbuildings.MostofthetemplesdozensofbuildingswerebuiltaftertheTangDynasty(618-907),primarilyusingwood,tilesandstone.Manybuildingshavebeenwellpreservedandretainanaturallookwithwoodensurface
4、sweatheredovermanyhundredsofyears.YiJiangHallbuiltintheSongDynasty(960-1279)PhotobyWangXThemostfamousbuildingatJinciTempleisthefive-storyYiJiangHallzbuiltintheSongDynasty(960-1279).Itisagrandstructuredecoratedwithyellowandgreenglazededgeworkandcarvedwoodendragonscoiledarounditseightsupportingpillars
