2、ablishTorreyainthesamelocationinwhichitthrivedforthousandsofyears.TorreyausedtobefoundinabundanceinthenorthernpartofFlorida,whichhasaspecificmicroclimate.Amicroclimateexistswhenweatherconditionsinsidearelativelysmallareadifferfromtheregionofwhichthatareaisapart.NorthernFloridasmicroclimateisveryfavo

3、rabletoTorreya,sgrowth.Thismicroclimateiswetterandcoolerthanthesurroundingregionsrelativelydry,warmclimate.ScientistshavebeenworkingtoplantTorreyaseedsinthecoolest,dampestareasofthemicroclimate.ThesecondoptionistomoveTorreyatoanentirelydifferentlocation,farfromitsFloridamicroclimate.Torreyaseedsands

4、aplingshavebeensuccessfullyplantedandgrowninforestsfurthernorth,wherethetemperatureissignificantlycooler.SomescientistsbelievethatTorreyaprobablythrivedinareasmuchfurthernorthinthedistantpastzsobyrelocatingitnowzinaprocessknownasassistedmigration,humanswouldsimplybehelpingTorreyareturntoanenvironmen
