2、hesoundseemedtobemovingwithgreatspeedandagility;however,thesubmarinessonar(amethodofdetectingobjectsunderwater)wasunabletodetectanysolidmovingobjectsinthearea.Thereareseveraltheoriesaboutwhatmighthavecausedtheoddsounds.Thefirsttheorysuggeststhatthestrangenoiseswereactuallythecallsofmaleandfemaleocra

3、whalesduringacourtshipritual.Orcawhalesareknowntoinhabittheareaswherethesubmarineswerepickingupthebizarrenoises.Orcashavebeenstudiedextensively,andthesoundstheymakewhentryingtoattractamalearesimilartothosethatthesubmarinesweredetecting.Asecondideaisthatthesoundswerecausedbygiantsquid.Giantsquidsareg
